Panachrantou Monastery

At the northern hills of Gerakonas mountain, you will find the Panachrantou Monastery or the Monastery of Agios Panteleimon, built by the emperor Nikiforos Fokas and renovated in the 17tcentury. From here, the view is impressive. The building complex of the Monastery which is built in various levels is equally impressive. The wooden carved iconostasis, the murals of the 18th century, the icon of Panagia Panachrantou, the bones of Agios Panteleimon are some of the most significant artefacts that you can find here. For the monastery, you follow the tarmacked road from Vouni village or the dirt road that begins from Fallikas.
