The 18 best beaches in Tinos

A collection of the best Tinian beaches for the devoted lovers of sea, sun and sand.

 

Aghios Petros beach

Non-organized beach in Exo Meria. Separated in two by a rocky “tongue” that gets into the sea . On the top you can see the homonymous chapel, while on the opposite side stands Syros. Within the sea, a shipwreck is hidden, pole of attraction for every diving lover.

Aghios Ioannis Porto beach

A large, family beach of shallow waters, 6km from Chora. On the edge you will see a chapel, while there are also taverns and beach bars.

Aghios Romanos beach

A large, leeward sandy shore at the southern part of the island, 11km away from Chora. It is one of the most popular beaches in Tinos thanks to the transparent waters, shady trees and view to Syros. As for the name, it was “baptized” by the small church which you can find on the left edge of the bay.

Aghia Thalassa beach

Protected from the winds, tranquil and isolated, it is ideal for those who seek peacefulness. The idyllic Aghia Thalassa beach is accessible via dirt road from Panormos.

 

Kalyvia beach

The Kardiani seaport lies next to Aghios Petros beach, 13km away from Chora. Clear, shallow waters, salt cedars, umbrellas, deck chairs and a cheery beach bar compose the general scenery of the beach.

Aghios Sostis beach

One of the most beautiful coasts in Tinos, just 5km E of Chora. It “sees” towards Mykonos and has several times been awarded for the crystal clear waters, fact that makes it perfect for children.

 

Kionia beach

A cosmopolitan, organized beach with the archeological site of Kionia in the background, 3km away from Chora. Also pebble, sand and view to Syros.

Aghios Fokas beach

The largest in length beach in the island (3km long). It is perfect for those who do not have any means of transmitting (easily accessible on foot from Chora) as well as for those who think that umbrellas, deck chairs and beach bars are a must. All along you shall find cafes, restaurants and taverns. It boasts about the view to Delos, the sand, pebble and the salt cedars.

Kolympithra beach

Also known as Mikri & Megali Ammos. In reality, they are two beaches, on the north of Tinos. The largest from them is the beloved of the northern wind –that is why it is not so popular- while the smaller one is protected by the winds, has thin sand and jade green waters. Also, it is organized with deck chairs, umbrellas, taverns and beach bars. Here, there is also a windsurf school.

Apothikes beach

The beloved of the winds in Kato Meria, is ideal for those who need calmness and facilities. You will find here umbrellas and deck chairs.

Malli beach

Northern inlet in Exo Meria, 25km away from Chora. After the quarries in Marlas, the dirt road leads to Malli beach with the greenish waters, marble seabed and Andros right on the opposite side.

Livada beach

An isolated bay in Pano Meria, 6km (of dirt road) away from Steni village. A coast of wild beauty with waters that deepen suddenly, strange carved rocks, fine cobblestone and black sand. It gets rather windy at times and it’s ideal for windsurfing.

Yannaki bay

Right under Kardiani village, just 7km away from Chora. A quiet small port of blue waters and fine pebble, mostly preferred by families. Here you will find fish taverns with excellent seafood and fresh fish.

Lychnaftia beach

5km SE from Chora, you can get here by taking the road that begins from Triantaros village. A peaceful beach of white and black pebbles, crystal clear waters and shady salt cedars.

Isternia bay

The small fishing port with the crystal clear waters and picturesque fish taverns is just 17 km away from Chora. On the advantages, the marvelous view towards Syros.

Pachia Ammos beach

In every sense… once you get here, 10km away from Chora, you will see the golden dunes, the sculptured by the brine rocks and lots of people. You see, it is the most popular beach in the island.

Rochari beach

It will be adored by the amenities fans. The cosmopolitan place to be, with salt cedars on the beach and sight to the Northern Aegean Sea is located in the small port of Platia settlement, close to Panormos.

Stavros beach

Ideal for those who wish to stay close to Chora as it is set just after Kionia. A peaceful, leeward spot with shady trees and beautiful sunsets. Along the seafront road you will also find taverns, restaurants and café-bars.
