It is rightly considered one of the most important archaelogical museums in Europe, as its collections include characteristic samples from all the periods of the Cretan history, from the Neolithic to the Roman period. It hosts the treasures of the Minoan civilization, while its most precious exhibits include the original frescoes from the palace of Knossos, like the Bull-Leaping, the Prince of the Lilies, and the Blue Bird. Linear B tablets from Knossos and the famous inscribed Phaistos Disc will mark a unique educational journey over time.
