Nunnery of the 18th century, located north of the residential area of Ano Mera. It is a typical example of the monastic architecture of Cyclades and is founded on the ruins of an ancient fort. The monastery of Paleokastro was named after the homonymous neighboring hill, where the remnants of the Venetian castle of Gizi are found. In the same area is also located one of the two ancient towns of Mykonos.
