East in the Castle, built on the walls of the castle lies the monastery of the Capuchins. The Capuchin monks arrived in Naxos in 1628. The monastery consists of the church, dedicated to St. Anthony of Padua and the main complex of the monastery. The church is a single, with marble floor where there are funerary monuments mansions families. The monastery has two floors with cellars, inner well and garden. Today it operates during the summer months as a hostel for Catholic children.
