Angali means “embrace” in Greek, and this wind-sheltered beach, in the picturesque Vathi bay, certainly lives up to its name. Thanks to its bohemian character and a conveniently short distance from Chora, it boasts the title of the most famous beach in Folegandros. Although not organized, which means that you must bring your own sun umbrella and whatever you may consider as necessary, the area has taverns, cafés, a mini market, hotels and rental rooms. Its golden fine sand and emerald shallow waters make it ideal for younger swimmers. Angali is located on the south part of the island and can be easily accessed, as it is only 4 km away from Chora and 7.5 km from Karavostasis. This small port is the starting point for boats going to the nearby beaches of Agios Nikolaos and Livadaki. You can also approach Fira beach with a 15-minute walk from here.
